Treat yourself as
an open-source project.
Make your thinking, experience, work, and story public, versioned, searchable, and citable — using code and media, the two permissionless levers, so every output compounds into influence.
Not "build the product, then market it" — the work IS the marketing.
At least one commit a week — never break the streak.

One good read a day — only if it's worth it.

Why
Most of what you think, learn, and make sits in phone corners, local drives, and company wikis. You can't find it. No one else can see it.
Unseen is as good as nonexistent.
Time and energy are your scarcest capital. Spend them on things that can be seen and reused — that's how they compound like savings.
How to join
Two paths, both start with one small step.
You don't need a finished product or a line of code. Each step below asks for one small thing — start with the easiest.
For everyone · no code
4 stepsAll you need is a phone and an AI assistant (Doubao, Yuanbao, DeepSeek, Claude — any of them).
-
Copy one line to your AI assistant:
Read https://openmylife.xyz/llms.txt and help me open-source myself - Talk for a few minutes about the ideas, experience, or work you want to make public. It turns the conversation into a dated note.
- It creates an archive that belongs to you and generates a small personal page.
- Share the page on social media — that's it. You're in.
For AI agent users
3 stepsYou know git, you have GitHub, and you use AI every day — commit is familiar; you just never used it to record yourself.
- Give this skill pack to your agent (Claude / Cursor / Trae / Codex / any capable assistant).
- It reads openmylife.xyz/llms.txt, pulls the openmylife template (use the Gitee mirror if GitHub is slow), and asks you a few questions.
- It names and commits your first commit, then generates your personal page and AI context.
Five steps
Start with the lowest step. Each next one is only a little harder.
There is no "write a masterpiece" step. Start with one sentence; the rest can come later.
Taking the first step is already enough.
Boundaries
Not everything should be public.
Every piece passes three gates — share ideas and work, not your life.
Publish directly: notes, reviews, methods, product source.
Visible but not promoted: early drafts, unfinished ideas.
Never store: other people's privacy, addresses, finances, offers in negotiation, trading details — put them in .gitignore.
Collection · awesome-openlife
One person sharing is a diary; many people sharing become a network.
Everyone who open-sources themselves gets an entry: who / what / since when / where to find them.
